Notes

This album, originally announced to become Edgar Froese's solo album for summer 2007, was finally released in April 2008 as a regular Tangerine Dream album. Though all compositions are still by Edgar Froese he was accompanied by one or two of his fellow band members on all but one track.

The Eastgate Music Shop about the CD release"Views From A Red Train is the new studio album by Tangerine Dream. Three tracks from the album have already made their first public appearance during the Frankfurt gig (at Alte Oper/One Night In Space Concert") last year. The CD contains 10 tracks of very pulsating and energy driving material. Maybe the most rocktype oriented recording TD ever did. The fans who just love the EM ambient background stuff should maybe safe their money on this one. Fair advise -- but if you're willing to do the test of expanding your tolerance, you're always welcome."

Unlike most other TD albums this one contains quite extensive liner notes for each of the compositions, written by Bianca Froese-Acquaye (please use the links to the individual tracks for further information). When the track list of this forthcoming album was published in early 2008, the composition Carmel Calif (which was played live during the One Night In Space gig before) was not part of it. Obviously many TD fans asked to add the track to the album, as it was not released on any CD so far. So Tangerine Dream decided to rearrange the complete tracklist and add the composition as first track.

Regarding the initial Eastgate CD release, neither CD nor the paper inserts show any order number or barcode, but the number given below is the order number the Eastgate Music Shop lists this release.

In April 2008 this release became available as MP3 download at the Tangerine Dream Download Shop as well.

In March 2009 the album was re-released with different cover design as part of an extensive digipack series (consisting of a total of more than 60 CD and DVD releases) by the Germany based Membran record label, and in May 2009 it was re-released in Japan as part of a series of HiQualityCDs with mini LP paper sleeves.

Furthermore, the album was released as double vinyl album with completely different cover artwork in summer 2009, together with Summer In Nagasaki and Autumn In Hiroshima.
