Notes

Lost In Strings Volume I contains 23 tracks prominently featuring Edgar Froese on guitar. The tracks are taken from the following releases and presented in a roughly chronological order:

Force Majeure (1979, one track)

Lily On The Beach (1989, one track)

The compilation features one previously unreleased track: Tangines On And Running (originally released on 40 Years Roadmap To Music in 2006) is a new mix with additional guitar and about 30 seconds longer that the original version.

The Eastgate Music Shop about the CD release"When a writer for the LA Times asked Edgar few years back, how he would define his guitar playing skills, Edgar's answer was very straight: 'I am not the best one, but I know what I am doing.' So, through the last decades while Tangerine Dream participated from Edgar's 'painful exercises' on his six string, he never brought himself too much to the foreground. This is the first time you can listen to some of his guitar landmarks and find out about his authentic style when he gets lost in his strings..."

The album comes with a 4-page booklet featuring credits, liner notes (similar, though more extensive than the shop information above) and a number of photos featuring Edgar Froese with his guitars, ranging from 1967 to today. The clear tray insert features the track list with composer credits but no information about the recording years and the original albums. Given the subtitle of this compilation, apparently a second volume (or even more) is planned.

The Lost In Strings Postcard

The first 300 orders of the CD received a special postcard based on the CD artwork, signed by Edgar Froese (see left).
