On April 20th, 2007 Tangerine Dream performed at the London Astoria Theatre. This concert was later released on DVD as London Astoria Club Concert 2007.

On the occasion of this event the EP Sleeping Watches Snoring In Silence has been released, containing three tracks, two of them being reworkings of older material from the eighties (which both were performed live that evening), and the completely new title track (which was not performed live).

The Eastgate Music Shop about the CD release"This collector's item Sleeping Watches Snoring In Silence contains 20 minutes of 'diehard' material which has been produced on the occasion of TD's Astoria gig on April 20th, 2007. This EP will not contain any vocal parts. There are three tracks of TD at its best."

The mention of vocals in the advertising text obviously corresponds to the then current album release Madcap's Flaming Duty which was performed during the first set of the evening. Like everytime when TD experimented with vocals the fans' reactions were quite mixed about that album, so this EP can be understood as some kind of present to those fans who are not that happy with the direction TD took with that album and prefer a more 'classic', that is purely instrumental, approach.

Neither CD nor the cardboard sleeve show any order number or barcode, but the number given below is the order number the Eastgate Music Shop lists this release.

In June 2007 this release became available as MP3 download at the Tangerine Dream Download Shop.
