Notes | The West Berlin concert was their first live performance in 1978: In an interview with Wouter Bessels, Steve Jolliffe remembers: "Klaus Schulze turned up for the first show at the Eissporthalle in West Berlin. He had a gentle way about him and helped to calm me down from the nightmare of setting up a microphone, which became a continuing problem throughout the tour. [...] Just like during the making of the album [Cyclone], the vocals were just one of many ideas I hadn't expected to use. They were based on a language I invented at school aged about 10 or 11, fully improvised and always different. Not so different from playing an instrument." |
