In October 2011 Jerome Froese released his first live album, featuring material from his studio album Neptunes (2005) as performed during a number of gigs in 2005 and 2006. That is, this CD does not feature an entire concert but is edited from various soundboard recordings. According to the booklet, it "deliberately does not contain any audience noise", so there is no thing like "live feeling" at all.
With the exception of C8H10N4O2, Nightshade Family features all compositions from Neptunes, though in different order and in versions slightly different from the studio release. Since Neptunes went out of print a while ago, Nightshade Family is a nice opportunity to get hold of this material. On the other hand, anyone who already owns the studio album might hesitate to buy the live album as it does not provide that much different music. Sound quality is (as always) excellent.
