The soundtrack album Mota Atma was Tangerine Dream's first official full length album in 2003; the world wide release date was April 29th, 2003. The music is based on a soundtrack Edgar Froese composed for a Japanese/American co-produced documentary, but it is unknown whether this movie has ever been released officially. The composition Gate Of Saturn that was announced on the Astoria Theatre London single release as part of this album is here retitled Brain Offender by unknown reason.
In January 2007 this release became available as MP3 download at the Tangerine Dream Download Shop. While the compositions had been credited to both Edgar Froese and Jerome Froese in the original CD booklet, all tracks are now listed as compositions by Edgar Froese only on the downloadable artwork.
In March 2009 the album was re-released with different cover design as part of an extensive digipack series (consisting of a total of more than 60 CD and DVD releases) by the Germany based Membran record label, and in September 2009 it was re-released in Japan as part of a series of HiQualityCDs with mini LP paper sleeves.
