The DVD release Live At The Tempodrome Berlin captures Tangerine Dream's concert on September 21st, 2006. After a number of special concerts in 2005 and 2006 where TD performed parts of the Dante Trilogy, this was the first one to feature a more regular set again, consisting of a variety of compositions from the band's vast back catalog -- with a clear emphasis set on the eighties.
On this occasion Tangerine Dream appeared with a unique live line-up of no less than seven artists: Bernhard Beibl gave his debut on guitar and electric violin, while Gerald Gradwohl (on guitar as well) appeared for the last time. So did Jerome Froese, who left the band a short time after. According to his website, his "decision to leave TD fell about fourty minutes after the Tempodrom gig in a Taxi heading home."
The DVD comes with a 4-page booklet featuring photos of the band and the credits. Neither cover nor insert provide a track listing.
The animated menu features the options to play the complete concert as well as to start from individual tracks, to setup the audio (AC3 2.0 Stereo or AC3 5.1 Surround) and to view a bonus rehearsal featurette as well as the credits.
Please note that the DVD is indexed wrongly in one place: the track Warsaw In The Sun starts after less than 2 minutes right in the middle of The Journey. The track listing above shows the running times of these two tracks as they should be.
Re-Releases
In March 2009 the DVD was re-released with different cover design as part of an extensive digipack series (consisting of a total of more than 60 CD and DVD releases) by the Germany based Membran record label.
