Apparently, this series is some kind of conceptual work, completely composed and performed by Edgar Froese. The booklet features a story by Edgar Froese based on a manuscript found 1977 in a military camp in Greenland.
The album consists of nine tracks, eight of them completely new, while the last one apparently is a remix of an older title, Moonlight On A Crawler Lane. After some remarks by some fans about the last track being some kind of anti-climax to the otherwise new album in the official Tangerine Dream Forum, the forum administrator responded: "Sometimes I really wonder how you come to the idea that the last track of Chandra is a repeat? If it seems like that: Can't you ever imagine that similarities to more than over 1000s of tracks Edgar composed in his life are sometimes probable???" Given the similarity of not only the music but also the titles of both tracks, this seems to be a strange coincidence -- but TD fans are accustomed to make their own minds irrespective of any official information.
Regarding the initial Eastgate CD release, neither CD nor the paper inserts of the Eastgate release show any order number or barcode, but the number given below is the order number the Eastgate Music Shop lists this release.
Only a short time after its initial release on Eastgate the album was re-released with different cover design as part of an extensive digipack series (consisting of a total of more than 60 CD and DVD releases) by the Germany based Membran record label, and at end of July 2009 the album became available as MP3 download at the Tangerine Dream Download Shop as well.
