Machu Picchu is the sixth release of the so-called 'cupdisc' series. Like it predecessor, Mona da Vinci, this album comes in a jewel case instead of a cardboard sleeve. It features six previously unreleased compositions by Edgar Froese.
Only a few days after its CD release this album became available as MP3 download at the Tangerine Dream Download Shop as well.
Re-Releases
On occasion of the Record Store Day 2019 on April 13th, Kscope Records re-released the album on yellow vinyl. It was issued with a 4-page insert featuring the album liner notes and the chapter about John Peel from the autobiography 'Force Majeure' by Edgar Froese.
