On November 1st, 2008 Tangerine Dream performed live in London, once again. The focus of the three hour concert was clearly set on the then most recent albums -- the new Views From A Red Train and the 2008 re-releases of Tangram and Hyperborea -- which were performed almost entirely (though shuffled). Nonetheless the gig featured a number of TD classic compositions -- some of them performed live for the first time -- and some completely new compositions.
In March 2009 the concert's audio soundtrack became available as MP3 download at the Tangerine Dream Download Shop. In June 2009 it was released as a three CD set as well. The mastering of these two releases is different -- the download was very loud, leaving out dynamics, which was discussed by fans with passion. It seems the band have taken the criticism seriously, because the CD release has much more dynamics than the download. Furthermore, the CD release contains an 8-page booklet with about 20 photos, most of them taken during the London gig.
In late August 2009 a DVD set was released containing the full London concert on one DVD plus a bonus DVD containing the footage recorded at the concert on November 7th, 2008 in Los Angeles. The DVDs come with a 8 page booklet containing a large number of photos as well as the track listing and the credits. The DVD menus provide the options to play the complete concerts as well as to start from individual tracks, to view the credits, and to do the audio setup (Stereo 2.0 or Dolby Surround 5.1). The first DVD features a bonus video accompanied by the music of last track of the London concert, Cloudburst Flight.
Regarding the initial Eastgate CD and DVD releases, neither the discs nor the paper inserts show any order number or barcode, but the numbers given below are the order numbers the Eastgate Music Shop lists these release.
In March 2010 the album was re-released in Japan as part of a series of HiQualityCDs with mini LP paper sleeves.
In May 2011 Membran released the London concert on BluRay (this version does not feature the Los Angeles footage). Together with One Night In Space, this has been the very first Tangerine Dream release on this high-resolution digital medium.
